This is #5 in a 7-part series about the behind-the-scenes ideas and decisions for growing Updatey, including sneak peaks at new features that will be coming in Updatey's next big update. Take a look at the other posts here.
In order to make working with other project management tools easier, one of the new features that will be included in Updatey 2.0 is better syncing with external services like Redbooth and Basecamp. There will be two sync options aimed at two kinds of Updatey users.
1) Continuous Sync
This option is for users who, for one reason or another, don't want to make a full switch to managing their projects in Updatey, but want to take full advantage of the Timeline and great Client Report to keep clients and external team members up to date with a project. This feature will regularly check for changes in your usual project manager, like Redbooth or Basecamp, and update your Timeline and Client Report so that you can still use those powerful Updatey features without any hassle or changing your favourite workflow.
2) One-time sync/import
This is for users who want to start using Updatey for all their project management needs but don't want to have to manually copy over all of their project details. The one-time sync will import your project data into Updatey, ready for you to manage your project within Updatey. You'll then get the advantage of the Timeline and Client Report features, as well as Updatey's Project Management tools, without any added work on your part.
We're excited to share this new feature with you soon! If you have any questions or comments, let us know in the comments section below or send us an email.
